Karen Carman

is Executive Director.

Karen Carman is the founder and Executive Director of Hope Street, where her leadership and vision have been instrumental in creating a safe, supportive space for women to rebuild their lives in recovery. Drawing on her personal experience as a parent of a child who has navigated substance use disorder, Karen brings both deep empathy and professional expertise to her work. Under her guidance, Hope Street has become a place where women can find the tools, community, and encouragement they need to achieve long-term recovery.

Karen’s advocacy extends beyond Hope Street. She serves on the board of the Washington Alliance for Quality Recovery Residences (WAQRR), championing ethical standards and quality care for recovery homes statewide. She also partners with the Walla Walla Community Change Team to raise awareness and foster dialogue about the connection between trauma and addiction.

When she’s not leading Hope Street or advocating for recovery, Karen enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
