Having raised her family in Walla Walla, Lura has worked with several Walla Walla schools and served several terms in the PTA.  She chose to leave the office to stay at home with her children, running a daycare for over 21 years out of her home.  She now finds time to prepare meals and lend a hand at the soup kitchen, coordinate events and housing for a local company or two, and volunteers countless hours for church youth and women’s organizations.  She has been a strong advocate for families, counselled mothers on raising children, and instructed on home management skills.  In her spare time, she loves to run, hike and stay physically fit. She and her husband have 5 children and love to travel.
